Artist seeks volunteers for downtown mural

Kent artist Elaine Hullihen seeks volunteers to assist in painting the mural at the Haymaker Farmers’ Market.

Hullihen said there is plenty of painting to be done, and she encourages students and community members to get involved.

“I am there Wednesday through Friday, usually 9 [a.m.] until 3 in the afternoon,” Hullihen said. “We meet right under the bridge. Once we get the other side of the bridge primed, there will be lots and lots to do.”

Hullihen began painting the mural on the bridge supports in downtown Kent July 13 after months of preparation.

She plans to complete the mural, which will mark the location of the Farmers’ Market, sometime in August.
