Kent Police have arrested a 25-year-old suspect for alleged incidents of burglary and sexual imposition that happened at College Towers Oct. 15.
According to a press release, police arrested Ahmed Refaie, a graduate chemistry student at Kent State, for unwanted sexual contact with a female victim and forcing his way into her apartment.
The victim said Refaie knocked on her apartment door, asking for the location of the laundry room. Before leaving, he inappropriately groped her. Then he knocked again.
"I know I shouldn't have answered the door," the victim said. "I really don't know why I did."
The victim and her roommate proceeded to call the police.
Investigators identified Refaie from surveillance footage at College Towers. Police posted a photo of the suspect on the department's Facebook page, which resulted in the tip leading to Refaie's arrest.
The suspect is being held at the Kent Police Department.
