Kernich dies from injuries

Business major Christopher M. Kernich died this afternoon from the injuries he suffered in an assault in the early-morning hours of Nov. 15, Kent City Police said.
Kernich was pronounced dead at Akron City Hospital at 4:30 p.m. today. He was 23 years old. Two men - Ronald G. Kelly, 20, and Adrian A. Barker, 21, of Akron - are in the Portage County Jail in connection with Kernich's assault. They were both charged with felonious assault. Check back with KentNewsNet.com for further details.
