TV2: Cleveland TV stations refuse camera interviews

The FCC is voting this week to determine whether or not it will be mandatory for local television stations to make the public records showing who funds their political advertisements available online.

Broadcast journalism students Shanice Dunning, Megan Moore-Closser and Matt Jarchow visited four commercial television stations in Cleveland to get copies of the public records showing who funds each stations political advertisements.

They accepted the challenge by veteran journalist Bill Moyers to go to their local television stations to get copies of the records.

This is all in an effort to get the records online so the public has easy access to them.

They took their video camera along with them to get video of the records and their experience while they were there.

They didn’t expect to run into any issues in Cleveland, but as you will see in the video the Cleveland stations didn’t like their television camera.
