Young Thug, Soulja Boy announced as FlashFest headliners

Kent State Undergraduate Student Government announced Young Thug will be headlining the 2019 FlashFest on April 11.

The concert will take place in two locations. Young Thug and Soulja Boy, his opening act, will preform in the M.A.C. Center, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. DJ Top Gun will be the show’s house DJ. 

DJ Pauly D and American Authors will have a free performance on the Student Green starting at 2:30 p.m. Other student green performers include local acts TrilL Cosby and Elbow Room. 

Tickets go on sale March 12 at 10 a.m. Upper general admission (GA) tickets are $10 and floor GA tickets are $20.

Young Thug has released one album and 18 mixtapes, with his most recent release being “Super Smiley” which was released in 2017. He also was awarded the Grammy for Song of the Year on Feb. 10 for his songwriting contributions to Childish Gambino’s “This is America.”

Former FlashFest performers include 2 Chainz and Wiz Khalifa.
