Marie Bukowski’s art

Marie Bukowski

Bukowski’s work will be seen close to home at her solo exhibit, entitled “Memoirs of Disintegration.” The pieces in the show focus on the concepts of disintegration and recovery. Each individual piece does not explicitly represent one concept or the other; a piece can be seen as either, or even as both at once, Bukowski said.

“None of them are specific to being a time of difficulty and one being a time of … improvement or recovery,” Bukowski said. “I wanted them to be interpreted so each one can be seen either way.”

This piece, “Cold Memories; Warm Dreams #4,” is a representation of that idea.

Each piece includes imagery of trees, which can either be seen as wilting or thriving.
