Kent State volleyball (1-6) was defeated in straight sets (25-20, 25-20, 25-14) in Friday’s match against Butler (6-2).

Senior Kelsey Bittinger led the team with 17 kills, while freshman Natalie Tagala matched Bittinger with 17 assists. Senior Challen Geraghty led with 20 digs.

“We need to play together. We just let them come in our gym and walk all over us,” Geraghty said.

“There’s a lot of volleyball things we need to work on but, I think it’s more individually and kind of as a team and a unit people just have to step up and do their jobs better, plain and simple,” coach Dan Gromala said.

Kent State will take on College of Charleston at 12 p.m. on Sunday.
