The 23rd annual Pedal-with-Pete, which supports cerebral palsy, is set to take place Saturday morning throughout Kent.

Participants can either bike or walk during the event, which costs $40. Registration begins at 7 a.m. at Stanton Middle School.

Kent State alumni Peter Zeidner, who has cerebral palsy, began the Pedal-with-Pete Foundation in Kent, hoping to raise money for research. Cerebral palsy affects one’s ability to control muscle movement due to abnormalities in the brain, according to the Pedal-with-Pete website.

Jim Stroble, co-chair of Kent’s Pedal-with-Pete, said the event is a tradition.

“This event and organization has a strong hold to the Kent Community,” Stroble said. “Pete Zeidner held the first event 23 years ago, and it has been an ongoing tradition since.”
