The Portage County Sheriff’s office is investigating a homicide which occurred Friday at approximately 12:43 a.m. in Franklin Township, according to a press release from the office.

Jayquon Tillman, 18, from Cleveland, was shot and transported to University Hospitals Medical Center in Portage County, where he was pronounced dead.

Kalin Lee, a junior fashion merchandising student at Kent State, was also shot and transported to Akron City Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Deputies responded to a call of a large party in a residential neighborhood Friday around 11:30 p.m.

While deputies worked with residents to quiet down the event, a gunshot sounded from inside of one of the residences.

The shooter has not been identified and is still on the loose, said Portage County Sheriff David Doak.
