For students looking to get involved with philanthropy on campus, Knitting for Those in Need might be a place to start.

Knitting for Those in Need, a Kent State organization which donates clothing to local homeless shelters, is hosting a Knit-a-Thon to create as many knitted items as possible.

No experience or equipment is necessary. The event will be divided into three stations: beginner crochet, beginner knit and advanced knit. Food will be provided, and students can participate in an arm knitting workshop as well.

The Knit-A-Thon will be held March 10, on the fourth floor of the Kent State Library, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
