Kent State’s Modista Fashion Group will host its annual fashion show on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

This year’s theme is titled “Elements of Life,” in which designers will take inspiration from nature to create small collections of clothing.

“Each designer will incorporate different elements such as trees, animals, seasons, oceans and more into their collections,” said Nazhary Jackson, Modista’s vice president and sophomore fashion merchandising major. “I hope that from this show the designers and stylists will bring something different and really show their creativity.”

From the layout, runway, hair and makeup, attendees can expect to see a show very similar to high fashion couture, according to Jackson.

“It’s been really stressful, but I see the hard work myself,” Jackson said. “And (seeing what) the president has put in, along with our executive board … it’s finally coming together.”

Tickets are discounted online for pre-sale at $7 and will be selling for $10 at the door.
