The Kent State track program has already seen two of its athletes qualify for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio with hurdler Will Barnes, Puerto Rico, and thrower Danniel Thomas, Jamaica.

Now, the Flashes look to add Reggie Jagers III and Matthias Tayla to the list as well, at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon.

Jagers will compete in the trials’ discus event and Tayala will take on the hammer event. Both will need to finish in the top three slots and hit an Olympic ‘A’ standard to earn spots on the U.S. Olympic Team.

Tayla will compete next Wednesday at 8 p.m., while Jagers will compete on Thursday at 9 p.m.

Fans can watch a live streaming of the Olympic trials, which run from today until Sunday, July 10, here.
