Excellence in motion at the K

Several exercise classes took PE to the K this afternoon.

Kent State students participated in Zumba, PiYo and pound classes on the K by the student center today in an effort to spread the word about these courses for the fall semester.

“We’re out here demo-ing because we want students to know about our program,” said Dr. Lettie Gonzalez, senior academic program director for the Physical Education Basic Instruction Program (PEB). “Studies have shown that exercise is just as important to learning as academic studying.”

Gonzalez said PEB classes offer a wide variety of activities and are open to all KSU students. Senior rec management student Ryan Snyder said he participated today to try out the Insanity course.

“I want to learn as much as I can about anything that has to do with the fitness industry,” he said. “Any knowledge I can gain, I’ll take it.”

Gonzalez said she encourages anyone interested in taking a PEB course this fall to register. If a class is filled and there is enough interest, Gonzalez said she may add another section.

The dance classes took place outside last Thursday and finished up this afternoon. For more information on PEB courses, contact Lettie Gonzalez at [email protected]
