Peace, Love, and Little Donuts is set to open in mid-May, next door to Bar 145 in downtown Kent. The store will offer a variety of specialty donuts, late hours on Thursday through Saturday and delivery service.

The chain originated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2009. As of 2015, there will be 19 stores operating in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Florida, with various locations opening soon.

Manager R.J. Reef is excited to move to the college town of Kent.

“We love the college town atmosphere and think the history of Kent fits well with our theme,” Reef said. “It’s really the place to be.”

The chain offers ‘Groovy’ donuts with toppings such as cinnamon and maple sugar, ‘Far Out’ donuts with frosting and ‘Funkadelic’ donuts with frosting, as well as a variety of toppings including maple bacon and s’mores.

Donuts are consistently made throughout the day and come from, according to the company’s website, “the grooviest donut shop on this side of the Milky Way.”
