Track and Field takes home Titles at Jesse O.

Five athletes came away with individual titles at the Jesse Owens Track and Field Classic. Senior Dior Delophont captured first place in the triple jump, while placing fifth in the high jump. Sophomore Cayla Carey placed first in the long jump with a jump of 12 59/100

For the men Donovan Tolbert took first in the triple jump at 15 , Reginald Jagers took first in the hammer throw at 63 27/100 and Senior Jesse Oxley took the pole vault title at 16 8 ¾.

Placing in the triple jump along with Tolbert and Delophont were Senior Roseanne Erickson in fifth place, Lakia Kent-Allen in 11th, Abdul Seidu in ninth and Jonathan Grant tied for 13th.

On the track the men took six spots in the top 30 in the 100-meter dash. Brian Smith placed fourth, Wayne Gordon placed eighth, Brandon Harris placed 17th, Jonathan Grant placed 23rd, Joshua peoples took 24th and Isaiah Conkle placed 27th.

In the 110-meter hurdles Tyler Jones placed sixth and Richard Dahome placed seventh, while Kyle Storm placed 23rd.

Three men placed in the top 30 in the 400-meter dash: Junior Matthew Tobin in fifth place, Junior Andrew O’Leary in 13th and Senior Grant Onken in 26th.

On the women’s side Taylor Farquhar placed second in the 400-meter hurdles. Tyler Williams placed fifth in 400-meter dash and Jorian Ordway finished eighth. These three along with Chelsea Laury finished third in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3.43.02.

Tracks next competition is the Drake relays April 27 and the Hillsdale College Gina Relays Friday the 29th.
