Flashes finish sixth in Louisiana

The men’s team fell one spot from fifth in the final day of the Louisiana Classics yesterday. The team entered the second round tied with Southeastern Louisiana.

            Sophomore Chase Johnson led the team by finishing his final round 1-under. His final score moved him up three spots on the leaderboard giving him ninth place overall. Johnson shot a total of 11 birdies for the day.

            Junior Josh Whalen ended his final round 7 over placing 39th.  Freshman Gisli Sveinbergsson finished 44th with 8 over. Ian Holt scored an overall 6 over finishing 32nd and Tyler McHugh shot 12 over par overall.

            Bjarki Petursson and Sebastian Bendsen competed individually in the tournament. Bendsen finished 55th on the leaderboard with a final score of 12 over. Petursson shot 3 over with a 19th place finish.

            The Flashes will be back in tournament play March 12 at The General Hacker in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
