Kent State received more than 700 gifts totaling $252,000 on Giving Tuesday, surpassing last year’s total of $40,000.

President Beverly Warren challenged students, alumni, faculty and other members of the community to give generously on the day known globally for giving back to others.

Warren pledged to match any and all donations up to $25,000 and will make her personal donation to the Distinctive Kent State Fund, which goes towards funding people, programs and opportunities at the university.

Warren released a special thank-you video in response to the outpouring of support.
