Kent State’s Office of Safety and Security will be holding a Security Open House Sept. 16 in Tri-Towers Rotunda from 4-6 p.m. for students and faculty.

The open house will allow residents to become more familiar and involved with the campus Security Aides.

“We wanted to offer something different for students,” Brian Hellwig, the Assistant Director of Residential Communities said. “We wanted to open the office up for the students to come by and meet the security leadership staff.”

The Office of Safety and Security focuses on getting all the information, especially the lesser known services, out to the students and faculty of Kent said Hellwig.

“(We want to) make them more aware of the services we offer, probably the most known service is the security escort service,” Hellwig said.

Aside from educating students and faculty about the services provided, the security aides will touch on how to reach security and their hours of operation. There will also be information regarding how to get a job with Safety and Security.
