The Exquisite Inc. Modeling Troupe and fashion production coordination company Exposure have joined together to present the Blackout Fashion Show, which will raise awareness for multiple sclerosis.

The fashion show will take place in the Student Center Ballroom at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25.

Sade Moose, president of Exquisite Inc. Modeling Troupe and founder of Exposure, wanted to bring an upscale fashion show to Kent State to stray away from typical fashion school shows.

“We think you should come to our show because it’s going to be a very different experience that Kent State has not brought to the university yet,” the senior fashion merchandising major said. “It’s going to be interactive, so it will be very interesting.”

Exposure will debut itself for the first time as an organization during the event, while it will be Exquisite’s second fashion show of the 2014-2015 school year.

The production will also showcase Exposure designers’ creative abilities, who come from Cleveland, New York and Kent State.

“Exquisite does not associate with the Fashion School, but it revolves around fashion and modeling for students in all majors,” Moose said about her company.

DJ Stroke will play music as well as showcase pictures and video of the models from a previous photo shoot.

The show’s title, Blackout, hints at the dark theme, which will be intensified by strobe lights and fog machines, Moose said. Those who do not handle flashing lights well should not attend.

“At first I was a little nervous for the show this weekend, but after practice everyone got an understanding with each other, and I’m really excited now,” Moose said.

Tickets cost $7 presale and $10 at the door.
