Kent State’s Spanish and Latino Student Association will host its first SALSA Spring Games to take advantage of warm weather and the outdoors.

Members of SALSA, along with the Lambda Theta Nu sorority, the Phi Iota Alpha fraternity and the Alpha Xi Lambda co-ed sorority, will be outside on Manchester Field on Thursday, April, 30 at 5:30 p.m. to play games and de-stress as the semester winds down.

“We’re planning on doing events like ‘Manhunt’ and Capture the Flag,” said Amanda Michalak, the public relations executive for SALSA and junior international relations major.

The event serves as a way to bring students of the Latin community together to work together and have fun as the semester comes to a close, she said. Though the games will be hosted by these different Latin organizations, participation is welcome to anyone who would like to join in on the fun.

“It’s just a really good way for all of the different Latin-based organizations on campus to work together, raise awareness, have some fun and blow off a little bit of steam before finals,” Michalak said.
