The School of Journalism and Mass Communication will hold its second event in the JMC Conversation Series, “Diversity (Re)Defined”, Wednesday, Oct. 22. The conversation will discuss the changing definition of diversity in the media and how the term diversity affects students and professionals.

The conversation, sponsored by JMC’s Student Voice Team, will be held in the First Energy Auditorium in Franklin Hall room 340 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

At the discussion, JMC Director Thor Wasbotten will conduct a questions and answers with a JMC faculty panel including Federico Subervi, Traci Williams, and Evan Bailey. The event is free for all students, who will have the opportunity to ask questions and share comments.

“Students must be more aware,” Federico Subervi, JMC professor and provost faculty associate for ALANNA recruitment and retention, said, “and prepared to deal with a changing world as they go out to engage in their professions as communicators.”
