Tech Spot added to business building

Tech Spot will now have a location in the Business Administration Building to accommodate the business college’s new requirement that its freshman have laptop computer for the fall 2014 semester.

Tech Spot, an on-campus technology service center located in the Tri-Towers Rotunda, will be at its new location to help resolve any computer problems that may arise. Laptops will be used for in-class activities and to complete assignments and tests.

To help with the recent increase in cost due to the requirement, incoming business majors may apply for financial aid.

“Our faculty want to be able to do hands-on activities in the classroom,” said Elizabeth Sinclair, the assistant dean for undergraduate programs at the College of Business Administration. “It’s a way to better engage our students and give them the experience employers look for.”

Students are recommended to have access to either a Windows 7 or higher or an Apple Mac OS X 10.7 or higher.
