Outlast the Outbreak to return Friday

Zombies will rise when the Student Recreation and Wellness Center hosts its undead-themed obstacle event Outlast the Outbreak: They’re Back.

Free for all students, the event will be at 10 p.m. Friday in the Recreation Center.

The event is the sequel to last year’s zombie-themed event, which boasted a turnout of more than 800 students. This year, coordinators are expecting 1,000.

“It’s a two-hour challenge where students will be running for their lives,” event coordinator Abby Millsaps said. “It’s the same overall concept of last year’s event, except last year, it was all about individual stations. This year it’s about collecting player cards.”

Students participating in the event will be striving to collect player cards with which they can enter to win prizes supplied by the center. The first 1,000 students will receive a free T-shirt, and all are welcome to stay for the post-apocalyptic themed party held after the event.
