Main Street Kent will host its second progressive event of the year on Aug. 8 with the Progressive Comedy Dinner Party.

Only 100 tickets are being sold for the event. Heather Malarcik, executive director at Main Street Kent, said she is expecting the event to sell out.

“The purpose behind the event is to get people to explore some of the old and some of the new businesses in downtown,” Malarcik said.

Those who attend the event will start their evening at 157 Lounge for cocktail hour, have dinner at Bricco, watch a comedy show at Kent Stage and end their evening at Tree City Coffee and Pastry for a dessert and wine or coffee tasting. Headlining the comedy show is Mike Polk Jr.

The first progressive event was the Beatles’ 50th Anniversary Progressive event held in February.

A single ticket for attendance, the cost is $65 or $125 for two, at www.mainstreetkent.org. Tickets are also available for purchase at McKay Bricker Framing and Black Squirrel Gifts.
