Porthouse Theatre, Kent State’s outdoor stage located at the Blossom Music Center, will open its 2014 season with a production of My Fair Lady. The season opens Friday, June 13 at 8 p.m.

The musical will run through June 28 and is directed by Terri Kent, Porthouse Theatre Artistic Director, and stars members of the Actors Equity Association. Joni Koneval, marketing assistant for the School of Theatre and Dance, described Porthouse as a thrust theatre that seats about 500 people.

“It’s about 127 acres total, so it’s a beautiful ground,” Koneval said.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 330-672-3884 or on the Porthouse Theatre’s website, www.porthousetheatre.com. Student discounts are available.
