As reigning Mid American Conference Women’s Golfer of the Year, Jennifer Ha made a strong case to reclaim that title over the weekend, ending the regular season with a one-stroke victory on Ohio State’s Scarlet Course.

Ranked No. 97 in the latest Golfweek rankings, Ha was three strokes over par heading into the final round then finished one—under in her final round on the par—72 course.

The overall two-over score placed ahead of many other ranked NCAA women’s golfers, but especially No. 39 Jessica Porvasnik from Ohio State on their home course.

The Flashes finished in a tie for second place with No. 24 Michigan State.

Josée Doyon finished next behind Ha on Kent’s scorecard, totaling to 12-over-par. After performing well for the Flashes so far this spring, a 13-over first round proved to knock Wad Phaewchimplee back to a tie for 38th on the leaderboard.

Ha and the Flashes will head to Fishers, Indiana this coming weekend for this year’s MAC Championships. Ha finished in first place at last year’s conference championships that were hosted in Nashport by Ohio University.

Kent State will start teeing off at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, April 25 as live coverage and scoring will be available on www.mac-sports.com.
