On March 5, Kent State’s College of Business Administration holds its fourth annual conference honoring women in business.

The conference will open at 8:30 a.m. with Judith Jones receiving a Spirit of Women In Business award for paving the way for women in business.

“This is the fourth annual conference and it just seemed fitting to me that we honored one of our alumni who embodies successful women in business,” said Deborah Spake, Dean of the College of Business Administration.

Dr. Amy Cuddy, Ph.D. will be at the conference as the opening keynote speaker. She will be giving a TED talk. TED, according to the website, is a nonprofit organization devoted to advancing “Ideas Worth Spreading”. It holds conferences that bring people from Technology, Entertainment and Design together.

“We are honored to have Dr. Amy Cuddy as the opening keynote speaker at the Spirit of Women in Business Conference,” said Spake

The luncheon keynote speaker is Farai Chideya, an award-winning reporter for Newsweek magazine, a political analyst for CNN, reporter and guest host for ABC News and host for NPR.

The Stern Women in Business, or SWIB, conference will be held in the Kent State University Student Center ballroom. For registration for the conference and more information visit the College of Business Administration’s website.
