AnnMarie LeBlanc, director of the School of Visual Communication Design, was selected to serve as the interim dean of the College of Communication and Information.

LeBlanc, selected as CCI’s interim dean March 21, will begin her term July 1. She has served as the director of VCD since 2007.  Her areas of expertise include color theory and traditional and digital illustration.

Kent State Provost Todd Diacon chose LeBlanc to fill the dean position. He said LeBlanc was the best choice for interim dean.

“We are very fortunate that Professor LeBlanc has agreed to serve in this important capacity,” Diacon said in a press release. “She brings a wealth of experience within the college combined with a keen knowledge of the important issues in higher education today.”

LeBlanc’s work has been included in more than 50 national and international adjudicated exhibitions, a dozen solo or two-person exhibitions and is in more than 300 private and corporate collections in the U.S. and abroad.
