‘Heathridge’ to make red carpet premiere
December 3, 2013
The student cast and crew for “Hell at Heathridge” will be making their red-carpet debut at the horror film’s premiere Thursday.
After more than a year of production, “Hell at Heathridge,” a full-length horror film produced by Kent State Independent Films, is ready to be viewed by the public.
“We’re very excited for the premiere. This film has been over a year in the making with more than 100 students and volunteers on board,” co-director Tyler Pina said. “I’m just excited for people to see it.“
The event is advertised as “red carpet,” formal attire is encouraged but not required. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. The movie starts at 8:30 p.m., and admission is free. Seating is first come, first serve.
“It’s extremely nerve-wracking to be at this point because we are showing the movie to people who haven’t seen anything except a trailer and we need to hope they love it the way we do,” said co-director Caroline Abbey, a recent Kent State graduate. “I hope we are packed the night of the premiere with people who want to support all of our work,” Abbey said.
There will be another showing of “Hell at Heathridge” on Saturday in the Kiva. The second showing will cost $5 and be open to the public as well. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at 8 p.m. Tickets will be available in the Kiva that night.
