Kent police receive call about man shot, investigation ongoing

UPDATE Oct. 17: According to Administrative Lieutenant Jim Prusha of the Kent Police Department, the man who was shot died.

The Kent Police Department received a 911 call around 8:45 p.m. Monday saying a man was shot.

According to a news release from the police department, the Kent Fire Department located the man between Sunnybrook Road and Mogadore Road, north of Howe Road. He was transported to a hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time.

The news release states that the Brimfield Police and the Stow Police assisted the Kent Police Department.

Police are still investigating the incident, and have not released any further information. However, the news release did state, “there is no indication that any gunman remains in the area posing any type of danger to the public.”
