The Kent State volleyball team will return to Mid-American Conference play when it hosts Bowling Green and Miami (OH) at the M.A.C. Center this weekend.

The Flashes (7-8, 1-1 MAC) are coming off back-to-back losses against Buffalo and

Youngstown State last weekend after beating Akron on Sept. 27. They will look to bounce back from a game in which they recorded a .147 attack percentage, a low figure compared to a season average of .208.

Kent State opens its Homecoming weekend with a game against Bowling Green (5-8, 2-0 MAC) Friday night. The Falcons enter the game with three straight wins, with the previous two being conference victories against Miami (OH) and Northern Illinois.

Bowling Green won both games against Kent State last season on its way to a MAC Tournament championship.

The Flashes’ second game of the weekend is a Saturday matchup against Miami (OH). The Redhawks (8-6, 0-2 MAC) have lost their last five games, including a loss to Bowling Green, after a strong start to the season during which they won their first five matches.

The Redhawk defense is one of the strongest in the MAC, averaging nearly 16 digs per set along with 13 kills per set on offense.

Only halfway through the season, Kent State has already achieved more wins than it did all of last season. The Flashes will look to continue improvement during their two weekend games, which both begin at 7 p.m.
