Funeral services will be held Friday and Saturday for John Goehler, former senior associate director of Dining Services and certified executive chef.

Goehler died of unknown causes at age 59 on the evening of Friday, Oct. 11. He had worked with Dining Services for 32 years.

Goehler was an active member of the Kent State community who will be missed by all, said Richard Roldan, Dining Services director.

“He definitely serviced Kent State University in a lot of ways,” Dining Services director, Richard Roldan said. “He was very active with the students; he worked with a lot of students, especially in the kitchen. He was very focused on bringing diversity to the menu. With 32 years of service, he’ll be deeply missed by everyone here, no doubt about it.”

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Donovan-Bagnoli Funeral Home in Tallmadge. His funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the same location.

Goehler’s family could not be reached by press time.
