A podiatrist at Advanced Foot Care and Laser Center in Elyria, Ohio, has been appointed an adjunct clinical instructor at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine, located in Independence, Ohio.

Dr. Roger Friedman applied to be an adjunct in July 2013 and was appointed as an adjunct Sept.24.

“I’ve been in practice for over 27 years, and I’ve always enjoyed the instructional side (of the profession),” Friedman said.

As an adjunct, Friedman will serve as a clinical instructor to fourth-year podiatric medicine students and mentor podiatric medicine students rotating through his office during their externships, according to a university press release.

“I’m looking forward to having students rotate through the office and (help them) start their careers as podiatrists,” he said.

Friedman received his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University and his medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, where he was awarded the Alumni Award for Clinical Proficiency, according to his curriculum vitae.

Friedman said he is excited to help the podiatric medicine community and educate its future practitioners.

“I’m looking forward to giving back to the profession a little bit, especially after so many years in practice,” he said.
