Dining Services displaying their food at the Taste of Kent

Dining Services will showcase its best food at the Taste of Kent on Wed, Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m at the Student Green.

The event will include foods from Prentice Café, the Hub in the student center, Jazzman’s Cafe, Quaker Steak and Lube and the Eastway Café and Deli, and samples will be available.

One of the event’s main draws is the 100 foot Stromboli sponsored by Slice, a restaurant located in the Hub.

The Taste of Kent takes place at the beginning of each fall semester for incoming freshmen and other newcomers to see what is available on campus. John Goehler, senior associate director for Dining Services, said it is used to help students know which establishments accept FlashCards.

“[The Taste of Kent] helps incoming freshman as well as others to see what’s available on campus,” Goehler said. “This way, they’re able to see where they can purchase food and what food they can purchase.”

If the weather does not permit outdoor events, the Taste of Kent will be held in the second floor of the Student Center.
