Relocation of Human Resources to begin next week

Officials in Kent State University’s Division of Human Resources announced Tuesday that their offices will be relocated to Heer Hall.

Human Resources is currently located in Wright Hall and Terrace Hall, but in an effort to consolidate resources, it will be moved to Heer Hall along with its benefits and academic personnel divisions.

“This move will eliminate all confusion as to where our department is located,” said Ann Lacey, special assistant in Human Resources. “All of our employees will finally be able to work under one roof. We’ve all been anxiously awaiting this move.”

The department’s email and telephone numbers will not be affected by the move, according to a university press release.

Offices and phone lines will remain open throughout the move scheduled to be April 22, Lacey said.

“The plan is to be all packed up this Friday,” Lacey said. “Movers will begin early Monday morning, and our hope is that it will all be completed that day. Though, the movers set April 23 as an overflow moving day, just in case.”

To introduce the Kent State community to the new facility, Lacey said Human Resources is looking to have an open house in the future.

“We’re really excited about this, and we want students and faculty to see that,” Lacey said. “We don’t have a date set, but we’re hoping to figure that out soon.”
