Thirty-ninth annual accounting conference comes to Kent State

Kent State University officials will host the 39th annual Meonske Accounting Professional Development Conference and Workshop Thursday and Friday.

Keynote speakers for both days include Michael Capellas, chairman of the Virtual Computing Environment Company, and Jim Tressel, former Ohio State football coach.

“This conference is recognized as one of the top five accounting conferences in the country,” said Norman Meonske, Ph.D., professor emeritus at Kent State, according to a university press release. “We are going to have two days packed full of high-quality practical training for members of the accounting and financial community.”

Workshops include “An FBI Perspective on CyberCrime,” “Leadership, Accountability, and Agreements,” “Ohio Professional Standards and Ethics” and “Process Optimization: The Accounting Close and Financial Reporting.”

According to the press release, Friday attendees will have the opportunity to win a new Apple iPad.
