The Delta Zeta sorority will host Lip Sync, its annual philanthropy event at 6 p.m. Saturday in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

“Participants put on a skit, and they do some kind of theme with it and song and dance numbers,” said Amanda Oswald, promotions chair of Delta Zeta and sophomore fashion merchandising major. “We got every single chapter to participate this year which is awesome. Everyone gets really creative with [his or her] skits. I’m really excited for this year.”

Money raised is donated to the Delta Zeta Foundation, which raises money for the speech and hearing impaired.

“We raised $34,000 last year,” Oswald said. “Now, we’re hoping to raise $35,000.”

Tickets cost $8 for participants and $10 for those not participating. Tickets cannot be purchased at the event.

“We sold 100 pre-sale tickets, and then we sold the remaining 30 Monday at 11 a.m. in the Student Center,” Oswald said.

Oswald said she is grateful for all of those involved.

“The support that we’re getting, we’re just so thankful for it,” Oswald said. “People have been holding their own fundraisers. Everyone’s really going out of [his or her] way to help us out, and we’re blown away by it.”
