An Iraq war veteran was charged Sunday with murdering Chris Kyle, a former Navy SEAL and author of the book, “American Sniper,” and Kyle’s neighbor. Eddie Ray Routh, 25, shot Kyle and his friend while at a gun range in Texas. He is currently being held on one charge of capital murder and two charges of murder. Police believe Routh used a semi-automatic handgun to commit the murder, but they are still unclear what the motive is.
“Warm Bodies,” the film about a “love struck” zombie made $20 million in its opening weekend, shocking critics. The film is made by Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment, which also released “Twilight.” The PG-13 movie follows the story of a teenage zombie whose love for a human returns him back to normal.
Lino César Oviedo, presidential candidate in the Paraguay elections, died in a helicopter crash Sunday. Oviedo allegedly led coups in an attempt to govern the poor country. He was returning from a rally Saturday night when his pilot got caught in bad weather that eventually brought the aircraft down. The crash killed Oviedo, his bodyguard and the pilot.
After a blast Thursday in the headquarters of Mexico’s state-owned oil company, police discovered another body, which brings the death count to 34. The cause of the explosion is still unknown, according to police. Rescue crews are still looking for people in the ruble.
