Ushers needed for “Spring Awakening”

The School of Theatre and Dance needs volunteers to help usher shows for spring semester.

Ushers are needed as early as Friday to help with the “Spring Awakening” performances Friday through Feb. 24.

“Around 200 to 400 people attend these shows, so we want someone familiar and welcoming to help them out,” said Rebecca Gates, managing director for the School of Theatre and Dance and Porthouse Theatre. “We want students from all around campus to sign up.”

Volunteer ushers are expected to come about 45 minutes early and are required to stay for the entire performance. They need to wear white shirts and black pants or skirts. Their jobs are to check tickets, hand out playbills and help attendants find their seats.

A volunteer sign-up sheet is located on the door of B149 in the Music and Speech Building. Multiple volunteer slots are still available.
