Texting turns 20 years old

Candace Monacelli

Texting turned 20 years-old, Monday. December 3, 1992 the first text was sent. Software Engineer Neil sent the very first text that read, “Merry Christmas.” Over these past twenty years, texting has grown into a popular form of communication. But a few years into its development, only point four texts were sent per month.

In 1997 that number only rose 35 texts per month. What do today’s texters think about this? TV2 Reporter Candace Monacelli explains.
