Police searching for flasher outside Centennial
November 12, 2012
A middle-aged man allegedly exposed himself Monday outside the Centennial Court residence halls, according to police.
Eric Mansfield, executive director of university media relations, said the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. Two female students were returning home when they saw a man sitting on a ledge.
“They could tell that he was not wearing pants and not wearing shoes,” Mansfield said. Finding him suspicious, the students picked up their pace, got inside, locked the door and called police, he said.
Mansfield said the man — a white male in his 40s with dark hair and a blue button-down shirt — took off into the darkness and has not been found.
Kent State sent a Flash Alert to students with details of the incident and a request for any information regarding.
“The safety of our campus is our top priority,” Mansfield said. “As a regular safety measure, we always encourage people to walk together when they’re outside at night, certainly that late at night.”
