The tenth season of the Kent Keyboard Series begins with guest pianist Peter Miyamoto at 5 p.m Sunday in the Ludwig Recital Hall.

The Keyboard Series features four solo piano recitals on Kent State’s main campus in the Music and Speech building. Donna Lee, associate professor in the School of Music, assists in organizing the series every year.

“We are excited to welcome guest artist, Peter Miyamoto, who is a prominent award-winning pianist,” Lee said. “Known for his artistic and virtuosic command, [Miyamoto] offers a varied program of some of the most popular and demanding works in the piano repertoire.”

Miyamoto will be performing popular pieces such as “Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D minor” by Johann Sebastian Bach, “Ballade No. 1” by Frederic Chopin and “Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, Op. 24” by Johannes Brahms.

Tickets are available at the performing arts box office and on the School of Music’s website. Tickets are free for full-time undergraduate students, $15 for adults and $12 for seniors and Kent State faculty and staff.
