Musician and actor will.i.am stopped by the Akron University Student Union ballroom on Monday night to promote the Obama campaign and voter registration. The Grammy award-winning artist played to a crowd of 480 according to Akron University Police. While working the stage he played hit songs from Adele, Jay-Z, and from his own band The Black Eyed Peas.

“It wasn’t what I expected,” said Akron University student Crystal Collins. “I thought he was going to say a lot more. I thought he was going to motivate us to vote.”

“I really thought Will was going to perform,” said Mary Matisak a John Carroll University student. “He said ‘Let’s go’ six times.”

Will.i.am’s next stop on the tour will be on Tuesday at The Ohio University, where he will complete his Ohio tour for the Obama campaign.
