One might think that if the politicians in the State of Ohio were seriously interested in having students complete their undergraduate degrees in three years (or even four), they might find a way to increase substantially the subsidies to public universities.

With such a bold move, our students would not be forced to work excessively long hours to help pay for their tuition, as the need to earn money is an impediment to their rapid progress.

A further benefit would be that students would have a smaller loan burden when they finish their degree.
