Student opinions about McDonald’s posting its calories

McDonald’s restaurants will start showing its calories on restaurant and drive-thru menus starting next week, but these students are not discouraged. Some believe it will help them make other choices and some say they will continue to eat their favorite meals.

“As a company that has provided nutrition information for more than 30 years, we are pleased to add to the ways we make nutrition information available to our customers and employees,” McDonald’s USA President Jan Fields, said in a press release.

The press release also cites research from the International Food Information Council Foundation, saying that about 15 percent of Americans accurately count calories to maintain their weight.

TV2 Reporter Spencer Smith stepped out to get student opinions.
