St. Patrick’s Day is this Saturday, and the celebration downtown is sure to be a great kickoff to Spring Break for students at Kent State.

The popular saint’s day is known for being celebrated in the United States by wearing green, decorating with shamrocks, eating Irish food and consuming lots of alcohol.

With so many students going home for break, will there be a big enough turn out for St. Patty’s Day?

Ray’s Place Manager Charlie Thomas reassures us that the party will go on.

All of the hot spots in town will be contributing to the Irish festivities by offering St. Patrick’s Day food and drink specials. The party will be getting off to an early start with doors opening as early as 6 a.m.

So, if students are in town or decide to come back for St. Patrick’s Day, they are sure to find something downtown to make them feel Irish for a day.
