AAUP president nominations due Friday
March 2, 2012
The Kent State chapter of the American Association of University Professors is accepting nominations for a new president.
According to an email sent to all members, the president would take office at the start of the Fall 2012 semester. Active and emeritus members are eligible to nominate others or themselves as long as the nominee has been in AAUP for at least one year at any time.
Donald Gerbig, chair of the nominations and elections committee, used the email to encourage members to submit the names of those “you think would make a good leader for our organization.”
AAUP’s website says it serves as the union and collective bargaining agent for the Kent State faculty. The current full-time-non-tenure-track president is mathematical science lecturer Tracy Laux, and the tenured-and-tenure-track president is Kara Robinson, associate professor at the university libraries.
Nominations should be sent to [email protected] by Friday, March 2 at noon.
