Chi Omega gets sloppy for charity

“We don’t settle for sloppy seconds.” That’s what adorns the back of the T-shirts that Chi Omega sorority had made for their annual philanthropy event: Sloppy Joes with the Chi Os.

The event is an all-you-can-eat dinner that includes sloppy joes, chips and desserts. Vegetarian options will be available.

The dinner will be at the Chi Omega house, 618 E. Summit St. from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday. The cost to get in is $7.

The dinner will also feature a raffle where students can win various gift baskets, including a basket filled with studying materials and a lottery basket.

There will also be an eating contest that students can enter to win a trophy. The entry fee for the contest is $5 a person.

All proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The foundation grants wishes to children who have life-threatening medical conditions.

The sorority also raised money this week during “Wish Week.” They had a table in the Student Center selling different things, like Make-A-Wish stars and T-shirts available for $10.
