Kent Interhall Council will host its first spring Drag Show Thursday at 8 p.m. in the ballroom of the Student Center. Doors open at 7:40 p.m.

Proceeds from the show will go to Relay for Life, a fundraiser that recognizes those who have battled cancer. KIC has hosted the Drag Show in the fall for Sex Week for five years, but this is the first time it will be used as a fundraiser.

“The performers who participated in the Drag Show in the fall said how interested they were in coming back in the spring,” said Katie Clarkin, director of community development for KIC. “We wanted to turn it so it can link to another program and can really benefit the community.”

Clarkin said the event is free admissions, but donations are encouraged.

“Before it’s a fundraiser, it’s a program for the students,” Clarkin said. “At the end of the day we want to make the lives of students better by promoting diversity and appreciation for others who may be different from you.”
