Tri-Sigma Night Live event this Saturday

Live from Kent State it’s Saturday Night!

Sigma Sigma Sigma will host its 5th annual philanthropic event Saturday: Tri-Sigma Night Live.

The event is a competition between all sororities and fraternities on campus. Teams will perform humorous skits from YouTube, “Mad TV” or “Saturday Night Live.” The catch is, the skits must include facts about Tri Sigma, said Taylor Huston, senior fashion merchandising major.

The top three male and female performers will get awards. There are also two overall awards for the best fraternity or sorority: best overall performance and top fundraiser.

A three-person panel will judge the performances. The fraternity that raises the most money from donations will get to select a member from their chapter to be the third judge.

The money raised will support Tri Sigma’s philanthropic organizations, the Sigma Foundation and the Robbie Page Memorial. The foundations support scholarships and therapy for terminally ill children.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the performances start at 7 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. Tickets will be sold the night of the event for $5.
